Eric Martsolf Performs "Oh Indies" at the 6th Annual Indie Series Awards

Eric Martsolf
"Oh Indies"
(lyrics by Eric Martsolf, music from Barry Manilow's "Mandy")

I've been acting all my life,
Doing Soaps from 9 to 5.
Caught up in a world, my face on a camera, crying all the time, the cash rolls in...
But you guys shoot another way,
Based on creativity.
No budget to be found, for actors or for sound, but hey you're still around, and nothing can stop you,

Oh Indies, Well you've thrived and survived and still standin'. And you're kickin' some ass.
Oh Indies, CBS, ABC, you don't need them. You've got the World Wide Web ...oh Indies.

Actors can't eat much on set,
The Red Vine jar is all ya get.
But you might see your face,
In a festival someplace,
So watch out human race,
Cause nothing can stop us,

Oh Indies. Well you've thrived and survived and still standin'. And you're kickin' some ass,
Oh Indies. CBS, ABC, you don't need them. You've got the World Wide Web ...oh Indies.

Content for the Web,
That's been our mission.
And now the best damn shows,
Aren't on television,

Oh Indies, Well you've thrived and survived and still standin'. And you're kickin' some ass.
Oh Indies, CBS, ABC, you don't need them. You've got the World Wide Web...
Oh Indies, Well you've thrived and survived and still standin'. And you're kickin' some ass.
Oh Indies, CBS, ABC, you don't need them. You've got the World Wide Web.

Eric Martsolf to Host 6th Annual Indie Series Awards

Emmy Award-winning Days of our Lives star Eric Martsolf will host the 6th Annual Indie Series Awards on Wednesday, April 1 at the historic El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood. The awards show celebrates the best in independently produced, scripted entertainment created for the Web.

"We are thrilled to have a multi-talented artist like Eric Martsolf on board," said Indie Series Awards founder Roger Newcomb. "He has won rave reviews for his work on stage, television and the web, and we think he's the perfect person to host this year's ceremony. It's going to be a night to remember."

"Anything can happen at the ISAs," said producer Susan Bernhardt. "Having Eric as host ensures the Indie Series Awards will once again be one of the most entertaining awards celebrations of the year."

With over 3000 episodes of television under his belt, Mr. Martsolf has been providing "love in the afternoon" with NBC Daytime for the past 13 years. His portrayals of Ethan Winthrop on Passions and currently Brady Black on Days of our Lives have resulted in numerous industry accolades-the zenith being his Emmy win in 2014.

His television credits expand into primetime (Extant, Smallville, NCIS, Rizzoli & Isles), and his musical theater repertoire consists of over 40 productions, including his critically acclaimed role as the Pharaoh in the Osmond Broadway Tour of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." He has also starred in the hit web series Acting Dead, The Bay, Venice and Miss Behave.

Mr. Martsolf resides happily with his wife Lisa and energetic twin boys in California.

The Indie Series Network will once again be the charity sponsor for the Indie Series Awards. Nominations for the 6th Annual ISAs will be announced on Wednesday, February 4 at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT on a special episode of Serial Scoop Now.

Indie Series Awards Returning to the Historic El Portal Theatre for 6th Annual Ceremony

Indie Series Awards Returning to the Historic El Portal Theatre for 6th Annual Ceremony

Historic theater in the NoHo Arts District to host awards ceremony

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Indie Series Network - Jan. 10, 2013 - HOLLYWOOD -- The Indie Series Awards are returning to Los Angeles for its 6th year on April 1, 2015. For the second year in a row, the Red Carpet Gala will be held at the El Portal Theatre, a historic landmark in the San Fernando Valley located in the heart of North Hollywood. When it first opened in 1926, the theater was home to Vaudeville shows, then Silent Movies and Academy Award winning films. Today, the 360 seat proscenium house serves for a multitude of functions including staged plays and readings, special events, plus film and television productions.

The Indie Series Awards, honoring the best in independently produced, scripted entertainment created for the Web, first began in 2009. Growing in size each year since inception, ISA6 will once again provide the backdrop for New Media creators to celebrate their accomplishments and those of their peers.

"The El Portal Theatre was an incredible partner for us in 2014 and we are excited to bring the Indie Series Awards back to this extraordinary venue," said Roger Newcomb, founder of the Indie Series Awards. "The space also offers us several new and fun possibilities for the ceremony, and there’s not a bad seat in the house."

Susan Bernhardt, ISA6 Producer added, "Being in the historic El Portal last year gave us so many ideas that we have the opportunity to implement for ISA6. The stars of New Media will be shining bright on April 1st."

"We smashed last year's record number of submissions for the Indie Series Awards, and the shows keep getting better," said Kevin Mulcahy Jr., director of charity sponsor Indie Series Network. "I can't wait to see the nominees showcased on the big screen at the El Portal Theatre."

Nominations for the 6th Annual Indie Series Awards will be revealed February 4 at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT on a special episode of Serial Scoop Now.

Tickets for ISA6 go on sale in February and will be sold through the El Portal Theatre box office.
