Indie Series Awards Returning to the Historic El Portal Theatre for 6th Annual Ceremony
Historic theater in the NoHo Arts District to host awards ceremony
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Indie Series Network - Jan. 10, 2013 - HOLLYWOOD -- The Indie Series Awards are returning to Los Angeles for its 6th year on April 1, 2015. For the second year in a row, the Red Carpet Gala will be held at the El Portal Theatre, a historic landmark in the San Fernando Valley located in the heart of North Hollywood. When it first opened in 1926, the theater was home to Vaudeville shows, then Silent Movies and Academy Award winning films. Today, the 360 seat proscenium house serves for a multitude of functions including staged plays and readings, special events, plus film and television productions.
The Indie Series Awards, honoring the best in independently produced, scripted entertainment created for the Web, first began in 2009. Growing in size each year since inception, ISA6 will once again provide the backdrop for New Media creators to celebrate their accomplishments and those of their peers.
"The El Portal Theatre was an incredible partner for us in 2014 and we are excited to bring the Indie Series Awards back to this extraordinary venue," said Roger Newcomb, founder of the Indie Series Awards. "The space also offers us several new and fun possibilities for the ceremony, and there’s not a bad seat in the house."
Susan Bernhardt, ISA6 Producer added, "Being in the historic El Portal last year gave us so many ideas that we have the opportunity to implement for ISA6. The stars of New Media will be shining bright on April 1st."
"We smashed last year's record number of submissions for the Indie Series Awards, and the shows keep getting better," said Kevin Mulcahy Jr., director of charity sponsor Indie Series Network. "I can't wait to see the nominees showcased on the big screen at the El Portal Theatre."
Nominations for the 6th Annual Indie Series Awards will be revealed February 4 at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT on a special episode of Serial Scoop Now.
Tickets for ISA6 go on sale in February and will be sold through the El Portal Theatre box office.
